On February 11, 2019, President Donald Trump was speaking to an audience in El Paso, Texas at a MAGA rally.
While speaking about new drug detection technology, Trump pointed out that current technology can not sniff out drugs nearly as well as a trained K9.
Trump spoke specifically about the German Shepherd Dog. Trump said: “There is Nothing Better Than a Good Old Fashioned German Shepherd.!”
He then went on about how German Shepherds that were trained to detect drugs could easily sniff them out.
Currently, scientists estimate that dogs may be able to smell 10,000 – 100,000 times better than human beings.
A few other dogs used in detection work include Springer Spaniels, Border Collies, Golden Retrievers, Labradors Retrievers, Belgian Malinois, Weimaraners, Bloodhounds, Basset Hounds, Beagles and other Mixed Breeds.
Whether or not you like President Trump, at least he has good taste in dogs.
