B Litter Goes to the Vet

The pups went to the vet Tuesday. They got a fantastic report card. Our vet is sending us detailed paperwork for each pup “soon”. We use Jordan Lake Animal Hospital and are hoping to have this by Friday, but in the event it is not ready yet it will be emailed out. They did get DHPP shots, HomeAgain microchips, and a thorough exam. We did not do the Bordetella/Parainfluenza vaccination, as we’ve been reading from very reputable sources that it can in fact do more harm than good. 2 of our customers actually brought this to our attention and made sure the vet was NOT giving it to the pups, which is when we looked into it. If you plan on boarding a puppy with a bunch of other dogs it can be a good idea, but I don’t know of anyone boarding their new puppy.

We were trying to avoid bathing but a couple of the pups got pretty dirt so we did bathe 2 of them. We purchased some very mild, hypoallergenic shampoo which contains NO soap. We do not want to strip their oil off. We currently plan on bathing each pup an hour before the new owners come in, and letting them have free range of the place and enjoying each puppy one final time. It has been difficult giving all of them individual attention this last week, mostly just due to their size. They still tire out quickly, but enjoy this while it lasts! 🙂

Anyways, on to the pictures!

Off to the vet, puppies!

Puppies at the vet’s office! The techs helped us unload them 1 by 1. We then brought them in. They were so fascinated with the new area, they all ran around, bit shoes, tugged at pants and went crazy while they were getting weighed and having temperatures taken. They were all passed out by the time the vet came in.
